Blouse of a 2-piece suit (skirt: 988.48.4.02); white linen, long sleeves gathered at shoulder, cuffs with 2 buttons and 8 tucks on each; 8 ivory buttons and buttonholes at front; 3 vertical tucks on each side of front opening; white cotton, crocheted lace at back neck and front yoke; cotton twill tape ties at back waistline; 16 vertical tucks from front yoke; French seams, machine sewn.

History

On paper pinned to blouse when donated: "White linen skirt and separate blouse with Irish crochet lace. This also was Mrs. Bowlby's found in the attic - Skirts at the turn of the century were real dust catchers if not eye catchers."
