History

Evidence from the globe dates it at 1867-68. In the nineteeth century the examination of geography became common, facilitating the purchasing of desk globes for the home. The particular globe was produced by H.B. Nims and Company around 1867. The globe was considered a better educational tool as it gives a "real" interpretation of how the earth appears unlike a map.
