Description

Two-piece wooden (possibly cypress) water pipe (.01-male, .02-female). Cylindrical; bound with iron bands; covered inside and out with a hard black substance; See also 959.108.

History

Display sign given to Museum with pipe: "Wooden pipe placed in ground 1863-1890, probably cypress, augered and burned - 4" diameter, used to feed Walker Barns on corner of Tecumseh and Walker Road with mash and water, dug up by W.U.C. [Windsor Utilities Commision]
