History

belonged to Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Webster. They include a wedding dress and underskirt, a white stole, Mr. Webster's otter driving gauntlets, a rose and white wool quilt over 150 years old, a wool scarf from the original Paisley Mills in Scotland over 150 years old, and a bracelet 100 years or more. (Old Bank?) Mr. And Mrs. H.A. Webster married June21,1905. Mr. Webster was appointed by the city of Windsor as Assessment Commissioner on July 1,1917 and retired on June 30th 1942 he was there retained by the city as Assessment Divisor, during that time he was appointed President of the Ontario Municipal Association. Mr. Webster was called the (incomprehensible) Whaler of Windsor. Welcoming to the City of Windsor the Prince of Wales now the Duke of Windsor, the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Lord and Lady Tweedsmuir, Lord and Lady Bessborough, and others. Mr. Webster was a charter member of Windsor Rotary Club. He was fuel and food controller during two wars.
