History

The doll is named "Ellen Christina" named "Ellen" for Ellen Baxter who gave the doll to the donor. And "Christina" for Princess Christina (daughter of Queen Victoria) who dressed the doll for a charity bazaar. The doll was purchased by Ellen Baxter while visiting England (Ellen died in 1920, aged 84). The doll dates to 1894.
