History

Mr. William Borre was born in Belgium and then moved to London and then to Windsor. All the miniatures were made in Windsor. Mr. Borre used to make full-sized reproductions of antiques. After a heart attack, he turned to making miniatures. He and his wife participated in many of the miniature shows, travelling to Chicago and Montreal in the process. He also made miniatures to order. He taught miniature making at W.D. Lowe for one season, and he wrote books on miniature making June Borre, William Borre's wife made some of the accessories to the miniatures. She was born in Windsor, the daughter of a butcher (nee Trim). Her family came to this area in 1919. Most of the items in the inventory (especially those made of wood) are made by William Borre.
