Description

Pine cupboard; mortise and tenon door construction; dove-tailed drawers; two sections : top (.1) and bottom (.2). Top has 2 doors (2 panels on each), 3 drawers, 2 shelves; bottom has 1 drawer, 2 doors (1 panel on each), 1 scalloped shelf, obvious filled nail holes, 5 wooden knobs, 2 hinges on each door, round uprights on either side with carved feet; panels are bevelled on inside, drawer bottoms are bevelled on underside; ledge is varnished.

History

Came from the household goods of C.W. Gauthier, probably from his father Jean Baptiste Gauthier. The cabinet-maker is not known, but he was either from Sandwich or Petit Cote (LaSalle).
