History

Made by donor's paternal grandmother, who lived in Kansas City, Missouri. She made it for the donor's father to give to the woman he married. Donor's mother was born in Amherstburg. She met the donor's father in Flint, Michigan on a blind date (apparently she was on a roller coaster and threw up in his hat). The newly married couple lived in Kansas City for awhile and Roberta was born there. They moved back to Windsor about 1924, at which time Roberta was 6 years old. Roberta was the only child of the family. Roberta's husband worked for Hiram Walker's. According to donor, her mother was 5'2" and her father was 6' 3". The dress was probably made around 1915.
