Description

Wooden frame with leather corner supports; a piece of masking tape is attached to the frame (see Marks).

History

Mary Anne Trouten, who died in 1933, was the original owner of this slate. She was born c. 1855 and used the slate as a child. Her mother's name was Foley. They lived at the corner of Tuscarora and Louis in "a little shack". The property is now a school.
