History

Used in Alicia Mason School, Windsor and rescued from there by Gordon F. Mann before it's demolition. Invented by Wilfred Allen and Alex Laing of Essex, Ontario and was patented August 27, 1896. Laing took the invention to Tripensee Mfg. Co. in Detroit, Michigan who became the manufacturers of his invention. The fascination with stars and our planet's relation to them, increased the demand for an explanatory instrument. The planetarium explains the earth's position in relation to the sun, moon, when it is different point in its rotation,
