Description: walnut, slope front, pull out resets, bracket base; brace bordered panels, lower doors; surface of writing area covered with figured red oilcloth; finish was replaced
History: Originally owned by C.W. Gauthier. This piece was stripped and re-varnished prior to its arrival at the museum. Interior surfaces of doors etc. have the tonality of black walnut while the exterior is closer to butternut. Possibly a bleaching out of natural colour occurred in the stripping process.
