The Clark home was located on Sandwich Street, between Brock and Chippewa Streets. It was built in 1833 by Jane's maternal Grandfather, George Teakle. Charles Clark was born in 1839 in Sandwich. He received his education there and went into business in Windsor when he reached majority. Over the next 30 years Charles was active in the Windsor community and served on city council. He retired to Sandwich in 1896. Eliza Jane Robinson was born in 1839 in Detroit but spent most of her life in Windsor and Sandwich. Jane and Charles were married and had three children, George, Charles and Henry, all of whom died in infancy. Charles and Jane were members of St. John's Episcopal Church in Sandwich where both were christened, confirmed and married.
