Title (Fre)

Vue vers l'intérieur Nord de la bibliothèque Carnegie

ca 1915

Black and white photograph of the interior of the Carnegie Library, looking north toward the first entrance to the building; there are arched columns on either side of the entrance hall; on the left side, each column has a framed photograph hanging from it and there is a triangular display case between the first and second columns from the front of the photograph; near the doors is a coatrack; in the centre of the photo is a set of double doors with oval windows; above the doors is a clock and in front of the doors is a light fixture with the round bulbs visible; on the right side of the photo, near the doors, is a small writing desk and chair and at the front of the photo on the right is a larger tellers desk with vertical bars; the floor is patterned tile and the ceiling appears to be very high; this photograph was likely taken between 1909 - 1925 and the library was located at the Southeast corner of Park and Victoria.
