Description

Black and white photograph of the interior of the Carnegie Library, looking north toward the first entrance to the building; there are arched columns on either side of the entrance hall; on the left side, each column has a framed photograph hanging from it and there is a triangular display case between the first and second columns from the front of the photograph; near the doors is a coatrack; in the centre of the photo is a set of double doors with oval windows; above the doors is a clock and in front of the doors is a light fixture with the round bulbs visible; on the right side of the photo, near the doors, is a small writing desk and chair and at the front of the photo on the right is a larger tellers desk with vertical bars; the floor is patterned tile and the ceiling appears to be very high; this photograph was likely taken between 1909 - 1925 and the library was located at the Southeast corner of Park and Victoria.
